More excitement!

First day of school was awesome. *jumps* Things around are so cool. But of course, I was very nervous. It's hard being in a new school when you're in Convent Kajang your whole life. Hampden Academy is a rather small school. There are only 800 students there. *wonders*

The 1st semester is about to end soon. The mid term exams are on the whole of next week. I'm only going to join in the classes next semester which would start after the mid terms. There are 7 exchange student in Hampden Academy including me. They are from Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Austria. Cool thing. We hang out together once awhile and there will be an AFS weekend next next weekend and we would go snow mobiling! *jumps*

It's freezing here. I like the snow though. It's so pretty. It is. We might have a snowday on Friday again.

Creative Writting

Concert Choir

Percussion En Samble

American Popular Music

Us History and Creative Writting are complusory. Concert Choir is something really new for me for I don't sing. PercussionES is learning to play the drums. APMusic will be a class when we listen to songs and study about it. Cool eh? I know. And in Sociology, we have to make a baby out of flour and take care of it for a certain preiod of time.

Hampden Academy rocks!

I might try skiing soon too. And join tracks? Hmm.. that would be running. We'll see how.

Excited!

I am finally in Maine. It's very cool here. We had snow storm yesterday. It was suppose to be my 1st day in school but it was a snowday, which meant that we can't go to school because it was too dangerous to be on the bus. Jack, Cathlin, Molly and myself went out and played in the snow. It was so cool and fun. It's my 1st time obviously. We slidged around and Molly hit a tree. *laughs*

I'm currently staying in an awfully big house and it's great. We've got a whole big area of compound to run around. The Swalec family own the area as far as you eyes can see. It's awesome. This is a great family, very active in guiding too, very casual, eat loads of junk food and drink soda (soft drinks). *jumps* I haven't have a hard time fitting in.

I'm now sitting in a house-library going online. The Swalec family have got internet at home, but I'm not sure if they like me being online so often. But on the other hand, I think that they're cool with it. They let me do what I want and do not really emphasise on the cultural information that I'm suppose to share.

I don't feel homesick yet. So Ma and Jie, don't worry just yet. But I am missing the AFSers from Malaysia. Sherilyn, Cheryl, Danial, Maryann, Carishma and the few others. We spent much time together at Washington D.C and we bonded so much. Do send me email asap you guys can go online. I want to hear more about your host family.

In fact, it's really nice here since I don't feel homesick yet. But once awhile, Pa pops into my head. Hate that. Just go away. *sigh*

I'm freezing here because of the weather. I do warm up a little inside the house because of the heater. And I get to bathe everyday, unlike what they have briefed us. *smiles* It's really exciting and fun to be here right now. Imma try to go skiing soon. Hopefully.

Btw, my school is a very small place. It's smaller than Convent Kajang! Imagine that! But the academics and sports are really cool. I hope no one pushes me into the lockers! *laughs* Nah, people in Maine are very kind and low key. The teenagers enjoy songs from the Beatles and hardly watch any series like One Tree Hill. *fuh* How could they. But they are very active in every single thing and join/win in loads of competition. Plus, there are 5 others AFS student attending my academy, so I'm not the only one.

Washington D.C

hey people of the world!

yes. I've reached safely in Washington D.C, USA. We stayed in a 4-H center specially provided for youth programs. It's a darn cool place. There is a recreation room in the basement and it contains arcade machines, internet connection, pool table and every other thing, you name it. *whoo* Even so, the cpu of the computer is hidden, so I can't connect my camera to upload picture. Will do so after reaching and settling down in my host family house in Maine. *grins*

Speaking of which imma fly there in 2hours time alone from Washington D.C. Which reminds me to mention that the places in Washington D.C are amazing!!


Btw, the AFSer from Malaysia love each other heaps!

I'm leaving..

Tessa came over to stay for the night. After dinner, went to Tesco to shop around. Have the sudden urge to cook. So we bought vegetables and chicken for today's lunch. Tessa fooled around with my camera when the dude selling the chicken started to strike a few poses. *laughs* I won't be here for chinese new year and I see Tesco selling boxes of mandarin oranges!

Orientation camp will be starting tomorrow until the 8th. Will be in KLIA from 10.15pm onwards on the 8th. Plane leaves at 1.40am, 9th Jan. Will miss all of you guys (friends and family). *sobs* Do email me ya. alohomora_qwertyj@yahoo.com.

Here I come, Maine!

I love me cousins!

After Father's funeral, we planned for an outing together with the cousins. And we did go out today. *jumps*

Went to 5 different banks in Kajang to get travellors' cheque but none of them have any. This is very dissapointing. I am going to banks in KL tomorrow to get it.

Picked Nanny (my baby sitter) up to have lunch together. Went to a Seafood restoraunt, Mun Seng in Kajang Utama. The food was rather good.

Drove down to Old Klang Road and picked up Yeng and Yoon Kit. Bought tickets for Alvin and the Chipmunks, yes I am a little left behind. Walked around before the movie started. Went to Karyaneka to get more batik-ish souvenirs. Found some pretty china-made chinesy bags for my foster sisters. Yoon Kit was a darling, he offered to carry all of our shopping bags and just tag along. *smiles* Tessa and Jie joined us, had dinner at Yoshinoya.

I tip-toed and still much shorter than him.

Alvin and the chipmunks were so adorable! My heart kept on melting throughout the whole movie. I love Theodor! (I suppose everyone who already watched the movie would love him too) "Please Christmas don't be late." "Dave, I had a nightmare" *melts*

Had supper and went straight home.

PWTC.Central Mart.Petaling Street.

Danial called me up a few days back and we decided to go Malaysia Tourism office to get some postcards and other souviners labelled 'visit Malaysia'. After a few calls made and some confusion. Cheryl and Faiz agreed to join us. I made my way to PWTC by LRT again. Met up at The Mall and headed to the TDC office. We were told to hand in some documents and will be able to get the stuff by tomorrow. *sigh* At the end of the day, I would have been to TDC for 3 times. Irham appeared awhile later and he hung out with us.

Danial haven't got any souviners, so we went to Central Market and shopped for some crafty gifts. Cheryl and Faiz was goofing around making us laugh. I had random convesation with Irham while both of us didn't know that the opposite stays in KL. *grins* Tried to buy some souviners from Petaling Street too but it was useless so we went back to Central Market. Later on, we had a really quick drink at the Mamak. All of us had much fun and decided to do so more often.

I took another train to the usual spot, Midvalley. Shop with mother and jie. *smiles*

2008 countdown in Genting

Two days after Pa's funeral, my aunt and uncle brought us up to Genting to divert our thoughts from the sudden loss.

On the 30th Dec, we headed up to Genting but due to the countdown celebration, we could only get a room in the Awana hotel. 3 adults, 3 teens and 3 children stayed together in the suite. Weather around the Awana hotel wasn't as cool though.

Since Uncle Gan is the Vice President for the Genting Theme Park, we got complimentary All Park ticket for two days. Wasn't in the mood to go for the rides but have to look after the children while the adults go online in Starbucks. It was cool anyway to look at Tze Yi goofing around.

Had fine dinning in The Olive. Darn cool place. It's compulsory for the waiters to serve us red wine. I had charboiled rib eye. *smack lips* Anyway, everywhere we went with Uncle Gan, people started bowing at the sight of him. *grins*

The last day of 2007

On the 31st, we went to the theme park whole day too. Love bumper car and reminded me of those time we (GGG) had, trashing each other. I was the eldest with the children out in the park, so when my 7year old cousin wants to sit the Jumbo flying elephant, I had to sit beside him.

By 10pm, we joined the adults at the Highland Starbucks and waited for the countdown to start. The crowd was amazing. since the weather was cold, we didn't sweat like we usually do down in Sungei Wang. It was heartaching though, because Pa usually bring us around for countdown and now he's gone.

The fireworks display was spectacular! The display was for a whole 10 minutes and there were variety. There were no tall buildings, the sky was clear. It was much better than in KL. Obviously, since Genting can afford those fireworks knowing the fact that they can earn back the money spent just through a table in the casino.

The family was great. We all had much fun.
