Yesterday
I went out whole day yesterday looking for Tourism of Malaysia office to get some brochures and CD in PWTC. Unfortunately the officers that were keeping the keys to the store, which is where the kept the stuff, was not around. *sheesh* Wasted my time taking the LRT down.

Decided to look for Kekkwa, Kementerian Kebudayaan to get some CD on traditional dance and music too. No one by the roadside I've asked knew where the office was situated. Walked blindly around the Sogo area and finally found the office after asking loads of people. Took a lift all the way up to 18th floor when I found out that the officers that have the CD was on holidays too. *feet aching by then*

Since there were no more department I could go to anymore, Mother and I headed straight to Sogo and shopped. *feet still aches but feels better when it aches due to shopping* Got more clothes and some formal shirts from Voir and Nicole.



Today
Finally finished the 44pieces of souvenir to be brought to the States. It's kind of hand phone case/glasses case/iPod case/coin bag/whatever-you can-store-in-it-case made from a big piece of batik sarong. Mother sewed all of them and I thread the strings through to complete it as a case/bag. I did sew one if you would like to know. *grins*

Went down to Old Klang Road to have home dinner with aunts and cousins. We bought satay for them. *slurps* Talked about some complications over dinner. They were to be evicted from their current house for development. Yehyeh (grandfather) is a stubborn man and wants to take his junks along. *sigh sigh* Everything is so hard. So is life itself.

Anyway, I had fun eating the Tong Yuen (coloured flour-balls in syrup) made by Ah Sam. *yum yum* Family stayed a lil while and talked about their childhood. One story touched me a lot. My aunt was almost suffocated to death when her mother silenced her cries with a pillow. Her mother did so to protect the family from being shot. My aunt turned blue and was near death. I'm glad to have her now.

At times like this, Jiejie absence is even more felt. But I'm happy that she's going Chicago for Christmas!

Maine, here I come!

I'm soooooooo excited. Found out that I'm going to Maine in US.

I am going to live with the Swalec family and I'm to study in Year 12 at the Hampden Academy. *jumps* It'll be great.

Decided to continue packing the room today but still unaccomplished. Went down to Bukit Bintang to have dinner at The Ship again. I ordered charboiled rib eye again and Mother had Seafood Au Gantin. I think The Ship should pay me for the highlight every time I go there for dinner. *laughs* I go there quite often that I even notice they renovated their toilet. *grins* But without failure, I think of Jie every single time we have dinner there.

Walked to Starhill Gallery to check out the Christmas decoration. The projected some long lasting tiny bubbles (snow) which stays on my hair. Pretty nice. Better than in Midvalley.

There were carolling session too. It was great. The choir group sang really well. And I'm attracted to those guys that sang especially those with great voices and ain't shy.

Cineleisure, The Curve, Midvalley

I was asked to be in Cineleisure to help out in the Selangor Girl Guides booth. It was organized by the Persatuan Penyayang and we had a booth there to promote girl guiding.

Woke up early and went to school to fetch Wen Yin and Suet Huey along. Had breakfast and reached there about 10am. I love the malls in the morning when you can scream across the building and nobody cares. *winks*

Two girl from Catholic High School came too. We waited until 11am to get our exhibition stuff from the store and started to set up everything. It was just a small booth, got it with the help from Pn Tek. In fact it was her idea.

So all we did was hand out fliers to those shoppers. But people who go to Cineleisure don't walk around like nuts. They usually go there to watch movies. So the crowd was pathetic. Whose idea was it to set the booth up there again? *geez*

Charm cheerleader squad came and performed. It was cool the way they tossed the girls into the air. *whee* Pn Tek came around 2pm and complained a lot.

Went to The Curve for awhile.

Mother followed and we decided to go Midvalley after my duty. And so we did. I didn't mind wearing the guides uniform around but Mother decided to buy me a blouse to change into. We headed straight to World Of Cartoon (hey, I still like that place!)


Bought flip flops to bring overseas. Got some pretty batik cloth to make souvenirs. (never thought I would say this)

At exactly 10.15pm, stood on the platform waiting for a 10.22pm train to arrive. 10.23pm, no train seen. 10.30pm, train from the other direction passed by. 10.45pm, still no train in sight. The train finally arrived at 10.55pm. Midvalley is not the best station to wait for the train. Moreover, the train was late. Imagine the crowd on a Sunday! Squeezed into the train and overheard (could not help myself since we were standing skin to skin!) a foreign woman saying that the trains in Hong Kong and Singapore is so much more better. Ahaks. Take a look at our country. In addition to that, some Malay couples decided to grope each other since it was so packed. *sigh* Not a very pretty sight.



Despite all this, I still enjoy taking the train and Rapid KL buses. Things just got to be improved drastically.

Steamboat with KL girl guides

Pn Toh invited me for steamboat at the KL Girl Guides headquarters. They were having their camp permit and invited me to join in during campfire.


It was great fun as usual. Met Pn Elsie, Pn Lucy and Xin Mei. Father and Mother was invited along too. The gadjets built by the candidates were just okay. It wasn't very sturdy. And the cooking shelter was kind of small. But the A-tents were pitched up nicely.


Father had to catch a bus to Penang. So we had to leave early, before the campfire started. I was too occupied talking that I forgotten to snap pictures during the steamboat. *blush*


When we reached Kajang, Mother decided to go Tesco. She was kind of stressed up and unhappy. And so we went shopping for food and stopped by every row until 11.30pm. "Let's go home, eat and get fat" she said to me and headed to the counter. It was nice just walking around randomly without hurrying while messaging (at least for me).

US Embassy Interview

I had an interview at the US Embassy at Ampang. The scholar of YES program were all told to meet up at the embassy to get out visa done. We were suppose to meet up at 12.30pm. The whole event lasted until 4.30pm.

I reached there about 11am and decided to walk over to Ampang Park to get breakfast. Had McD with Mother. Went back to wait at the front of the embassy. The building is really preety. Signed a few more forms. Met up with the others.

We passed through security check and handphone+cameras were not allowed. Couldn't take any picture.

Once inside, we got our numbers and had our interview done. Catherine and Cotty was amazing. They were so bubbly and even more excited for us than we are. They also told us a very good news today which was 8tv is going to make a kind of series from the 6 months lifestyle experience of the YES candidates. They're only picking a few of us (probably 6 or less) and follow up with our activities in the states. It's gonna be so cool to have a series done about us! *jumps*
The 8tv crew joined us today and interviewed almost all of us except a few due to time constrain. It was fun.

Later on, we met up with Ambassador Keith, which was an extremely lovely man. The embassy gave us a collar badge as tokens. The ambassador took time talking to each of us and he's ever so kind. *grins* We even had press from The Star and New Straits Times to do a cover on this event.

Plus, I just knew that we were going to stay at Washington for 3days before going to our respective foster families. It'll be great!

Mother went shopping with Sherilyn's mom while waiting for us. It was great to meet up with everyone and laughing out over stuff with Maryann, Sherilyn, Cheryl, Syaheera, Faiz and Carishma.

Everyone is just very happy and excited over it. *sigh happily*

Graduation lunch? Think twice

Convent Kajang Form 5 Graduation lunch was held in Prescott Metro Inn today from 2pm-6pm. Sook May, Wei SyQi and I went around 2.30pm. We were placed in one of the halls on the second floor. Just a tiny hall.


The whole event only started at 3pm. Raihan and Zulaikha gave an opening pantun as usual. Pn Norlia gave a speech, Sook May gave her speech. Due to the very unorganized planning, only 6 teachers attended today which were Pn Norlia, my mom, Pn Lim SH, Pn. Lum MK, Pn Lum Oi Lee and Cik Besira. How pathetic.


The food served wasn't great but I suppose I can't expect too much from a hotel in Kajang. We (May, twins, Yee, Jiani, Camillia, Wey Lu) sat at the table right behind, nearest to the door. We laughed and ate as usual. These people are cool to hang out with if you know them. Not a single song played while we were eating.


Half way through dessert, the whole place blacked out. It was pitch dark. Everyone started using the lights from their cells to guide them. The questions that came up:-

did they pay the bills?

don't this hotel have a generator?

isn't it great to have a graduation in the dark?

And I meant sarcastically. *laughs*
The electricity came back about 10 minutes later.

When the people in charge finally decided to play some music, someone used Kushwin's nokia mp3 phone to blast it towards the mike. Unbelievably pathetic. *geez*

Some girls volunteered to find bands to play and they got 3 bands playing for us. The thing is, these bands only play the songs of their own. Not any other famous or known songs. Not to be mean, but if you're playing in an event and you're not like Simple Plan or My Chemical Romance, don't you play covers songs then only promote one of your own? Just wondering. With this, not a single convent student performed as planned before.

Anyway, almost 3 quarter of the girls went out of the hall because the songs delivered were kind of too loud. *shrugs* Only a few girls were actually moving in beat with the songs played as if in a concert. *blinks* At around 4.30pm-5pm, most of us decided to get home.

In the end, the front most table was conquered by the strangers (boy+girl bands). Loads of pictures taken. We got real bored. Headed straight to Wei Sy and Wei Qi house to play monopoly. Hey, at least we have fun doing something. *grins*

*sigh* and there goes our so-called-graduation. I am glad Nickie and the rest went for camp instead of this. And did I mention how pathetic it was again? *double sigh* I have no grudge against the organizers of this event but very disappointed on how it turned out. I'm speaking for majority? But at the least of all, we got to meet up and snap pictures.
